Stark Arena in Belgrade: One of Europe's Largest Arenas Ready to Welcome Spectators After Rebranding

Stark Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, is one of Europe's largest multifunctional sports arenas. Opened on July 31, 2004, it was built at a cost of €70 million according to the designs of architect Vlada Slavica. Since April 2024, the arena has reverted to its original name, the Belgrade Arena, but many spectators still remember it as the Stark Arena.

The six-level complex covers 48,000 m². The arena's capacity is 25,000 spectators, including 18,386 seated spectators, plus 70 luxury boxes with a total of 860 seats. It houses a large and a small hall: the playing area of ​​the large hall is 95.5 × 56.5 m with a height of 36 m, while the small hall (29.20 × 43.70 m, height 10 m) is designed for training. The arena also has a modern press center and a 791-space parking lot.

Over the years, the arena has changed its name several times: from 2004 to 2012 it was called the Belgrade Arena, then until 2017 it was called the Kombank Arena, and from 2017 to 2024 it was known as the Stark Arena, after the brand name of the Croatian company Atlantic Grupa. At the end of 2024, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced a large-scale renovation, saying the arena was "poorly maintained" and in need of updating.

Today, the Stark Arena (Belgrade Arena) is a magnet for sports, music, and major event enthusiasts. It hosts basketball matches, concerts by world-renowned stars, theater shows, and festivals.
